Meet Dr. Mallikarjuna R. Pabbidi (“Dr. P”)
Veterinarian and Owner
Dr. Mallikarjuna R. Pabbidi grew up in India and moved to the United States in 2003, driven by his passion for veterinary medicine. After earning his veterinary degree in India, he completed his PhD in 2007 at Southern Illinois University.
While serving as faculty in the Department of Pharmacology at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Dr. P completed his ECFVG certification to practice veterinary medicine in the United States. He further advanced his clinical training at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine as a PAVE student and gained valuable experience working in both public and private animal hospitals, with a focus on small animal medicine and surgery.
Dr. P is a strong advocate for preventive medicine and believes in Benjamin Franklin’s timeless quote, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” His professional interests include preventive care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and urgent care.
After acquiring Cliftwood Animal Hospital, Dr. P developed a special interest in canine reproductive medicine. He works closely with breeders to help determine optimal breeding timing through progesterone testing and offers services including semen collection, evaluation, freezing, storage, and shipping. He has successfully performed numerous artificial insemination procedures using both manual and surgical techniques.
Dr. P is also experienced in pregnancy diagnosis using ultrasound and is dedicated to performing safe, meticulous Cesarean sections with excellent outcomes for both mothers and puppies. He is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Society for Theriogenology.
Outside of work, Dr. P enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and son. His hobbies include table tennis, hiking, and making lasting memories with his family.
